The Herzliya Artists’ Residence is a creative and dynamic space for action, supporting the creation, presentation, and distribution of contemporary art. We provide year-round residency programs, a gallery exhibition space, and studios for artists. Presently completing final renovations to better adapt our facilities to current needs as an active and up-to-date space, we serve as a home to a growing community of artists, curators, researchers and partners from Israel and the world. We design and operate personalized residency programs, present exhibitions, and manage various community projects. Additionally, we provide four work spaces as studios for artists for a period of two years.
The Herzliya Artists’ Residence is a municipal non-profit institution established by Varda Ginosar in 1995. It is part of the city’s cultural institutions, under the management of the Herzliya Art and Culture Company Ltd. The Residence initiates and conducts a range of collaborations with individuals and organizations in the city and beyond, creating a broad arena for artistic action.

Our activities include:
Exhibitions – The Residence operates a gallery for exhibitions, lectures, seminars and workshops. When necessary, some of our projects may also be presented in other sites in the city. The Residence plans and produces exhibitions, projects and artwork throughout the year, working closely with artists – from early concept inception, to fundraising and production, and finally the exhibition itself.
Residency Programs – The Residence includes three large and furnished apartments that allow artists, curators and researchers to live and work locally. This program provides them the space and time necessary for art work and multi-layered cultural exchange, offering a professional work environment, and encouraging partnerships between various fields of knowledge in the creative community.
Artist Studios – Four work spaces, leased out to artists for 2-year periods. Every two years, the Residence publishes a public call to artists of all mediums interested in renting a studio for subsidized cost. Studios may be leased for a maximal period of three years per resident (2 years + 1-year extension).
Education Program – The Residence Education Program is founded on the professional knowledge and experience that continues to develop in the exhibition space, residency projects, and artist studios, with the constant goal of encouraging dialogue and the participation of diverse audiences. The Artists’ Residence designs and operates several programs founded on partnerships in several art mediums, as well Herzliya’s other culture institutions, local residents, and organizations
