Itay Marom

Born in 1980, lives in Tel Aviv.  Itay Marom is a filmmaker, cinematographer and visual artist.  As a cinematographer, Marom shot many feature films, documentaries and shorts. Among his films are “The Cutoff Man” (Venice film festival 2012), “The Mountain” (Venice film festival 2015), “The Day After I’m Gone” (Berlinale 2019) and more. Itay also collaborated with prominent documentary directors such as Nurith Aviv, Ran Tal and more.

Since 2014 Itay is creating is own films. He has participated in Festivals, group and solo exhibitions. His video work “DOGS” was purchased for the collection of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and was screened in Kasseler Dokfilmfest.

His last film, Resonance, a feature documentary, won the DEFA prize in Dok Leipzig festival 2019, participated Doc Fortnight Festival 2020 at the MoMA and more.

Marom is teaching cinematography in Sam Spiegel Film School in Jerusalem and in the MFA programme for Documentary filmmaking in Tel Aviv university.
