MAYA DUNIETZ

MAYA DUNIETZ is a composer, performer, and sound artist who has performed internationally for the past twenty years. She investigates the interconnections between music, visual art, performance, technological research, and philosophy.

She has received commissions from renowned performers and ensembles, and she has created site-specific sound- performance works for institutions such as Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Arnolfini Centre for Contemporary Arts in Bristol, the Center for Contemporary Art in Tel Aviv, the Reykjavik Arts festival, and many more.

Dunietz made her first foray into large-scale sound installation in 2015 with Thicket, a sculptural sound cloud made from fiberglass and 11,000 earbuds creating a visually stunning and powerfully immersive experience. Thicket was recently acquired by the Centre Pompidou, Paris, where it was presented in a solo exhibition.
