Shany Harari

Shany Harary is an author, journalist, and literary critic for Haaretz newspaper, born in Tel Aviv (1977).

She studied English and French Literature at La Sapienza University in Rome but did not complete her degree; she completed the degree in Textile Design at Shenkar College but never made it to the department office to collect her diploma.

She wrote about design, fashion, and architecture for the magazines Time Out, At, and Binyan VeDiur, and short stories published in the journals Moznayim and Adam Tza’ir. She has also served as a ghostwriter.

She founded, wrote, and edited the design blog Bananama, which ran for five years until it was forced to close following a domain takeover by hostile entities – a discreet apartment business in Bnei Brak.

In 2020, her first book, Draw Me a Corona, was published. Her second book, One Woman Was Not Pleased, was released in 2024. She is currently working on her third book.
