Or Edry / The Heart is a Pump

Or Edry, dream-pop artist, acclaimed music producer and bass player, released her third album — The Heart Is a Pump — at the threshold of 2025. The album follows two widely praised earlier records: Javelin (2017) and Twenty Steps (2021), both of which received glowing reviews, extensive airplay on leading radio stations, and placement in the charts of both mainstream and alternative broadcasters.

Or’s new album is psychedelic dream-pop — soft, colorful, and intriguing. A significant number of musicians, singer-songwriters, and players — among the finest in the country — took part in its creation, including Yuval Mendelson, Sharon Roter, Assaf Talmudi, Ron Bunker, Gal Dahan, Ariel Kasis, Nadav Luzia, Nili Pink, and many more. The album was produced and arranged by Or herself, and written largely about the vivid personalities surrounding her in the captivating world of the Israeli music scene. It has received warm critical reception, and its singles have been played across various radio stations: the title track “The Heart Is a Pump” entered Galgalatz’s nighttime playlist and was selected by the editors of Kan 88, while “No One Will Replace Me” was picked up by Kan Gimel.

Or Edry has been active in the Israeli music scene for nearly two decades, including as one half of the duo “Rio” (with Zoe Polansky), which collaborated with Israeli and international artists — among them Laetitia Sadier, lead singer of Stereolab; they opened for Tame Impala, and appeared as guest vocalists on a Shlomo Artzi album, among other projects. She has performed and recorded with ensembles and artists such as Yuval Mendelson, Asaf Amdursky, Yuval Dayan, Sharon Roter, The Patricks (Dudu Levi and Avitipus), Ariel Horowitz, Reef Cohen, Alon Abutbul and The White Screen, Django (Amir Rusyano), Ram Orion, Aviv Mark, Shahar Even Tzur, Monty Fiorini, and many others.

In recent years she has also worked as a music producer, with projects including the bands Hashash Amiti and Tonic Clonic, Louisa Kahn (lead singer of Tri Poison), Yifat Netz (of “The Witches”), Yael Birnbaum (Yael and a Note), Sharon Roter, Gali Alon, Lauren Milk, and more.

At the special band performance to be held in the garden of the Artists’ Residence Herzliya, as part of the exhibition Ophelia Under Water, Adri will perform songs from the new album alongside some older material and tracks from her days with the aquatic ensemble “Rio.”
