Efrat Vital, born in 1978, graduated with merit from the MFA program of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, and with a B.Ed. (also with merit) from the Beit Berl College.
Vital’s work has been exhibited and screened in various venues, including: the Tobačna 001 Cultural Center in Ljubljana, Slovenia (solo exhibition); Raw Art Gallery in Tel Aviv; the Israeli Center for Digital Art in Holon; the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, the Center for Contemporary Art Tel Aviv; and the Sommer Contemporary Art Gallery in Tel Aviv.
Vital is also the recipient of an award by the Israeli Fund for Video Art and Experimental Cinema of the Center for Contemporary Art Tel Aviv, supported by the Israel Film Council, as well as the Shlomo Vitkin excellence in art grant.
In her video works, Vital adopts real stories and transforms them into cinematic narratives while employing documentary practices. In recent years, her work has focused on narratives that represent places: regions or neighborhoods. She is currently working on a video of “Allenby”, continuing her interest in the streets of Tel Aviv.
