A special performance inside “North Tribune, South Tribune”.
For one day, the three circular movements of the exhibition will be joined by another circular movement. This is a section from the sound work “Medamem (Bleeds)“, a work built over the course of a year as a performative study within the unformulated spaces of the radio. Those electro-magnetic spaces that stretch between transmissions and densely intended messages.
“Medamem (Bleeds)“ is an expression of a meeting between two electromagnetic spaces – the radio and the Loop Tape recorder. One is an expression of simultaneity, while the other is of non-temporality.
The radio and the tape recorder will begin their cycle with the opening of the exhibition at 15:00, and will operate until sunset.
The preforming duo are Shaul Kohn and Guy Dubious
Shaul Kohn is a musician, composer and sound technician working in contemporary instrumental music, experimental sound and noise. In his various works, Kohn deals with the nature of different musical instruments and their expanded capabilities, the natural tendencies versus the unnatural tendencies of different musical structures and the statement of existence that humans make through sound, within sound and music.
Bassist in the bands “Monument” and “Austerity Kult”. Kohn is apart of the “Cafe Yodfat” program, a residency for Israeli artists.
Dr. Guy Dubious, Artist and researcher. In his works and research, Dubious deals with poetic movements that take place in the unformulated space of the recording. The magnetic coil can resemble a canvas through and from which the body is exposed and questioned.
The artist works in a space where there is no immediacy but only repetition, there is no permanence but only change. The researcher deals with this space as a way to formulate contemporary political and social thought.
Dubious is the founder of the “Zimmer” in Tel Aviv, and he is the director of the Felicia Blumenthal Music Center and Library.
“North Stand, South Stand” is the solo exhibition of the artist Roy Cohen
