Fluid Universe is a sculpture and sound installation shared by the artist Netaly Aylon and the sound artist and musician Yifeat Ziv, dedicated to morphological and sonorous research of the Lily flowers.
For four weeks only,Netaly Aylon and Yifeat Ziv will take over the gallery space of the Artists’ Residence, for a continuous morphological-sonorous event.
This is the second stop in Aylon and Ziv’s ongoing journey. The collaboration between them began as part of the Kibbutzim Seminar’s Artist Residency program, and was presented for the first time at Ehad Ha’am Gallery, curated by Yair Barak and with the support of the Arts Department of the Municipality of Tel Aviv-Yafo and the Rabinovitch Foundation.
Aylon and Ziv arrive at the second station after staying and working together at the residence, in which objects, field recordings and sounds were added to the expanding chorus of lilies. And this into a fluid and volatile universe.
Through her body of work, Netaly Aylon explores the Hermetic theory, which proposes that all systems in the universe – from the atom to the planets – are similarly complex, and therefore share a common core.
She works in the practices of shaping and casting, kinetics, goldsmithing and ceramics, to create sculptural installations that examine phenomena that demonstrate a morphological resonance between the human body, nature and celestial objects.
Yifeat Ziv is a sound-sound artist, composer, improviser and multidisciplinary creator. In recent years Ziv has been engaged in the development of sound and listening practices that focus on environmental phenomena, beings beyond the human and the material embodiment of sound. In her music and performance and installation works she combines sound, field recordings, playing with objects and electronics.
“Fluid Universe” takes place as part of the “Cafe Yodfat” artist residency program, with the support of the Cultural Council of the Lottery.
