Alina Orlov was born (1990) in Soviet Russia, relocated to Israel at a young age and consequently moved to the USA for her Graduate studies.
Her work reflects on migrations and investigates concepts pertaining to fragmented identities and estrangement. Through video installation, she speaks from a vulnerable, hyper-intimate point of view.
Orlov delves into questions on gender, performativity, sexuality, mutable identities, and the quest for joy.
Orlov holds a MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, USA (2020) and BFA from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, Israel (2015).
Her work was featured in several exhibitions at key galleries and museums, including YARAT Contemporary Art Space, Sullivan Galleries, School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Rosenfeld gallery, Tel Aviv, Israel.
